Sam McLennan

Hi, I’m Sam, and yes, it’s just Sam. I attend St. John’s College Woodlawn, where I am involved in all aspects of college life, as I am a part of the ministry and Social Justice Committee, alongside other involvements. In this, we raise money to send to our sister school, Lavalla, in Cambodia, which I will travel overseas to later this year. At school, I’ve taken agriculture as a class and thoroughly enjoyed it. This, alongside growing up in the Casino community, has helped expand my knowledge of the farming and cattle industry. Outside of school, I enjoy playing netball and representing our town.  By attending netball carnivals, I’ve had the opportunity to meet other girls who live in small rural towns like our own. I have been involved in the casino community by running for Showgirl multiple times since I was 4, helping the show committee prepare for events such as Heritage Weekend, Rodeos, and The Casino Show. This has presented the opportunity for me to meet important people who are a part of our community, for which I am very grateful. Alongside this, I regularly attend church at St Mark's Anglican. I enjoy connecting with people of different ages and stages in life and from different parts of our casino community. I look forward to participating in the Beef Week program this year and seeing the community come together once again.
