Get ready for a hilarious night out as Comedy Under Par takes over the Casino Golf Club during Casino Beef Week 2025! Set against the scenic backdrop of the fairways, this one-of-a-kind comedy night promises an evening full of laughter, good vibes, and great company.

Tuesday, 27th May is your chance to kick back and enjoy some of Australia’s top comedic talent, with Mel Buttle headlining the evening. Known for her sharp wit, relatable storytelling and appearances on The Project, Have You Been Paying Attention? and The Great Australian Bake Off, Mel is guaranteed to have you in stitches. She’ll be joined by the brilliantly funny Damien Power, a powerhouse of Aussie stand-up and a regular on the national comedy circuit, bringing his signature edge and energy to the stage.

Whether you're winding down after a big day of Beef Week fun or just in the mood for a great night out, this event is the perfect way to let loose. Enjoy a buzzing atmosphere – all served up with a generous helping of laughs.

HEADLINE COMEDIAN - Mel Buttle

Fearless, funny, and frank, Mel Buttle is a super star of Australian comedy. She is the genius creator behind Australia’s favourite online mum character ‘Lyn’; an award-winning stand-up comedian; a popular television and radio presenter; and the self-declared number one fan of the Matildas.

Mel is currently touring her hit comedy show Not Here to Put Socks on Centipedes after sell-out performances at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney and Brisbane Comedy Festivals.

She appears regularly on TV in her own hilarious regular segment for The Project (Ten) and will soon be in the upcoming Series 3 of Taskmaster Australia (Ten). She also writes a monthly column for The Courier Mail’s QWeekend and pops in to chat with Robin & Kip on KIIS 93.7FM Brisbane each week.

Mel Buttle first burst onto the comedy scene in 2010 scoring a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (with Sista Got Flow). She then won the 2012 Sydney Fringe Best Show (for Stop It, You Are!), followed by the 2013 MICF Directors Choice Award (for How Embarrassment). Mel has since written and performed 10 solo shows in 10 years. She has facilitated comedy workshops, created and performed live shows with Nikki Britton, Anne Edmonds, Dave Thornton, Cal Wilson, and Susie Youseff, and supported the likes of Wil Anderson, Marc Maron and Merrick Watts. Mel also still gigs regularly in local comedy clubs and rooms around the country.

A three-time nominee for Most Outstanding Show of the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Damien Power is the most exhilarating voice on the Australian comedy circuit, racking up numerous awards, nominations and rave reviews, and selling out rooms across the country.Damien toured his raw, assured I Can’t Believe I Cared to audiences around Australia and the world in 2015. He took the 2016 festival scene by storm with Sell Mum Into Slavery, which was filmed as part of ABC TV’s Comedy Next Gen series. Damien is also a member of the “True Australian Patriots” – winners of the Director’s Choice award at the 2016 Melbourne InternationalComedy Festival. He stars in fellow True Australian Patriot performer Anne Edmonds’ show for ABC iView, The Edge Of The Bush, which is currently available to stream worldwide on Amazon Prime.

He also had his own segment – “Power to the People” – on The Project and featured in the ABC series Tonightly and Fancy Boy.The 2017 Melbourne Comedy Festival saw Damien nominated for the Melbourne Comedy Festival Award for the third time in as many years, and win the Pinder Prize, an Edinburgh Fringe grant named in honour of legendary comedy impresario John Pinder. Utopia: Live in 3D played at the Assembly for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and at London’s Soho Theatre.
